Mallenom Systems attracted grant funding to develop intelligent solution for the mining industry

Mallenom Systems received a grant from The Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises   (FASIE). Grant funds will be allocated to the development of an intelligent system for continuous assessment of the granulometric and fractional composition of the rock mass with the possibility of adaptation to various nomenclature of bulk materials and production conditions.

«About a year ago we started research in the analysis of granulometric composition of coal and coke. Preliminary tests and our previous experience have formed the confidence that the goal indicated in the project is achievable. We have solved similar problems before: for ALROSA we implemented a project for rough diamond sorting by shape and color, for RUSAGRO we developed and implemented a system for analyzing the quality of sugar beets in the bed of a truck, etc. Attracting funding from FASIE will allow us to accelerate the development of a system for the mining industry and introduce it to the market in a year as a ready-made commercial product,» comments Anna Zhivitsia, General Director of Mallenom Systems.

The system based on artificial intelligence will allow to perform automatic continuous monitoring of the mined rock mass on the conveyor belt in real time. The main functionality of the system will include detection and classification of granules according to various specified parameters. At the output, analytics data will be visualized on the operator panel, recorded in the database and transferred to an external system for management of rock extraction or enrichment processes.

This will provide the possibility of adaptive control of the rock enrichment process, which in turn will lead to significant economic effects. The main benefits for the mining enterprises will be the prevention of accelerated wear and tear of equipment, the reduction of costs for laboratory research of fractions, the minimization of operating production costs, the optimization of work and material quality control, the increase in the quality of operational management and the exclusion of the influence of the human factor.

The duration of the grant is 1 year.
